As I never remember how to install the WebDAV plugin for Eclipse installations newer than version 3.1 I would like to share the information how to do that:
- Download the pluginĀ FTP/WebDAV feature
- Unizp the downloaded file
eclipse-FTP-WebDAV-I20070430-0800.zip - Copy the contents from the folder
featuresto<YOUR_ECLIPSE_FOLDER>/features - Copy the contents from the folder
pluginsto<YOUR_ECLIPSE_FOLDER>/plugins - Restart Eclipse
- In Eclipse, choose from the menu bar
Window>Show View>Other ...>Target Management>Site Explorer - The Site Explorer view should be visible now. Right click into the Site Explorer view and choose
New>Target Site - From the popup window choose
WebDAV, clickNextand enter theServer URL,UserandPassword(in most cases you can leave theProxy Server URLempty)
That’s it!
Thank you, this has me very helped.
Hi Ed,
I just tested the instructions with Eclipse Helios – everything worked as expected. I added a screenshot to the article so it might be more evident where to add the Site Explorer view.
HTH!
Regards,
Florian
Tried this under 3.6.1 – it doesn’t work (no Target Management view and no Site Explorer showing under windows/show view/other)
Thank you …
Hi Juan, it always used to work for me and my colleagues … could you therefore please describe in more detail what’s not working for you?
